Sometimes I'm asked what I would be doing if I hadn't become an actor. Well, I might have taken more art classes in college, kept up with my painting. Yeah, I would have probably become a dirty hippie artist. I'm not sure that when I moved to LA to help a friend that I would have stayed. I'd have most likely gone back home to Seattle and settled into life there. On the other hand, maybe I would have stayed and gotten a place near the beach, used my hippie art skills to lounge around and paint all day. Whatever would have happened I'd see myself as maybe having lots of different jobs instead of one in particular. I think that's what drew me to acting in the first place. Being able to be someone different every once and awhile.
What's hard about having all those jobs is that sometimes you finish one and it's awhile before you start another. I've been in hibernation mode since Christmas. Or so it seems. I needed to recharge my batteries I guess. Hanging out in my big open house with my dog Bisou. I always feel guilty about leaving her behind, which is why I always take her with me whenever I can. This last time I was away she didn't get to come with me so I made a dog house for her in the backyard. Not that she has to sleep outside, oh no, she is spoiled. But now she has a nice shaded place next to the deck and she got her name painted in pink along the top. Yeah, like I said, she's so spoiled.
Speaking of being spoiled, today was Sunday. It is absolutely, most definitely my favorite day of the week. The best part of it being Sunday is that it's easy to get up and make breakfast at around 11am and not feel like a lazy bum. And on Sundays Bisou used to like going to the dog park but now our back yard is big enough for her to run around in. Sundays are good hammock days. They're good barbecue days. Nothing seems as urgent on Sundays, like it could all wait until tomorrow.
